I think that gun control is a big issue in America. When I visited Texas, I was very surprised at how relaxed the laws are surrounding gun ownership there compared to where I live. I don't believe people should have such easy access to deadly weapons. I shot a gun for the first, and hopefully last, time while I was in Texas. Even though it was just for recreation, I did not enjoy the experience at all, and it made me realize how serious this whole issue is. I hope that in the future America will make stricter gun control laws so that tragedies such as school shootings will subside.
