Informed Consent: Informed consent is a cornerstone of ethical healthcare. Patients have a right to be informed about their health and treatment options, and to make decisions about their care based on that information. Without informed consent, patients may not be able to make truly autonomous choices about their care, and may inadvertently end up receiving treatment that they do not want or need. Dealing with the opposite sex: Healthcare providers must be respectful of patients' privacy and dignity, regardless of their gender. This includes ensuring that patients are comfortable with the gender of their healthcare provider, and that providers do not engage in any inappropriate or unwanted touching.
